Copper prices still going up...............holding off on the trip to the scrap yard to see if it will bump even higher short term but with hurricane season approaching it may be time to dump this load. Anyway..........just thought I's share these photos. There is some big chunky stuff mixed in this pile. The place I take it to, we always agree on a price before I deliver. Hurricane Problem - No High Power Post #4 in topic

Posted 10 days ago by PinRetail – in Tech: DMD era games ‐ Last reply 10 days ago

I don't know that Hurricane has a high voltage safety cut off on the front door. I think it's single white switch is just memory protect. Of course, check LED's and fuses. Check the fuses with a meter. You can't reliably tell if it's working unless you use a meter. There really isn't anything else, so check the fuses.

Hey Pinsiders! Having an issue with my Hurricane where it boots just fine, no tech alerts, but I have no hi power or coils whatsoever. The coin door high power shut off switch is working fine, according to switch test, but it acts like it is stuck out. The kicker is, when I hold either flipper button in, the backbox disc spins, and the ferris wheels move. Any ideas?

Do you have a generator or emergency power source? Post #45 in topic

Posted 174 days ago by wisefwumyogwave – in Tech: Generic ‐ Last reply 156 days ago

I have 3 generators, one big one that can run most my house and well equipment it's dual fuel so ive only used propane in it. A small wen inverter Genny, it was the unsung hero of hurricane Ian. It keeps two fridges the lights and a small window ac running. Bearly used any gas for two weeks, maybe 15 gallons. I was so impressed I bought a slightly bigger WEN inverter one with an RV output, haven't even put oil in that one yet. Also have a solar battery with panels

Do you have a generator or emergency power source? Post #19 in topic

Posted 175 days ago by RonSS – in Tech: Generic ‐ Last reply 156 days ago

Yup. Same as above, Generac was out of the budget, but portable gas with manual transfer lights up well over 50%. Most importantly, furnace and well water continue. Hot water and fridge too. And of course, the coffee maker! Had to use it over a week after a hurricane event, and then the mini tornado a few years ago. Just installed a wood stove too, because society will lose it's collective shit if gas isn't available after 2 weeks.

Do you still surf? I wish we had waves here, but being 40 miles inland now makes it kind of a hassle when I was used to just walking a couple blocks and jumping in. I did drive to Jax Beach Florida a few years ago and surfed some serious hurricane swells with an old friend that lives there. The water is real warm there.

I enter the club again. I’m very happy! my new hurricane is in the restoration process! [quoted image][quoted image] Good luck on the restore. I brought one back to life a couple years ago. Since you’ve got it mostly apart, now would be a good time to add the missing lights back to the pop bumpers. https://www.flippers.be/hurricane_poplamps.html https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/hurricane-pop-bumpers It really helps liven up a dead spot on the game.

CUTTING THE CORD. Tips and tricks to do it right? Post #1380 in topic

Posted 8 months ago by mcluvin – in Hobbies without flippers ‐ Last reply today

This was just released, so I'm just googling answers that may or may not be correct. Someone mentioned it needed an active internet connection. I might try this myself. The Roku app needs a little TLC. Fire Stick and Google TV seems better, but the navigation buttons take a bit of getting use to. Don't have any Apple streamers, so don't know about that. Just a thought. I always have to plan for worst case. It’s nice to have TV and A C after a hurricane.

I am surprised people are not more in to comet, cyclone, and hurricane. I would kill for another cyclone. back when it was fresh on route I played a lot of comet. I have never owned hurricane.
