TPB has *fantastic* writing and comprehensive character development for about a dozen characters. It's called "art" -- the theme on its own isn't what makes it great. The team of people that wrote, acted in, and supported the series made it great. They turned people who are struggling, into characters you really care about -- nearly all of them -- except for maybe... Cyrus -- he was a dick!
"trash" is the last thing on my mind when watching TPB. To me, it's like a modern-day Leave it to Beaver -- it's a warm family show with lots of feel-good moments.
I would have no interest in watching a reality TV show about real people struggling in a trailer park. I also have no interest in making a determined habit of categorizing any group of people as "trash" -- even in good fun.
I'm looking forward to seeing what market research has been completed to learn that an unlicensed theme of "Trailer trash" would be a winner in the pinball world. I'm happy to be wrong on my hunch that's not going to be a top-10 unlicensed theme idea, based on data.
