Quoted from vid1900:Yep.
There are ambient sound effect libraries for film use, and background pinball sounds are always chimes.
Chimes are exactly what sound guys think pinball sounds like, regardless of the era.
The only movies that seem to use the actual electronic sounds are porn.[quoted image]
You know how I know vid is gay. He listens to cold play!

Author & Punisher is more my speed.
Started watching LOOT on Apple plus, caught up with second season. Decent show, feels like a mirror of Jeff bezos and his wife.

It rhymes so it must be true

Started Loot tonight. Did 2 ep’s.
I like it so far
Quoted from mtn-:Finished 3 Body Problem a few days ago. I liked it. First episodes were the best though.
I'm going to give "Three Body" a try now also
Also watching Constellation. If you liked DEVs, it does share similar "quantum physics" of multiverses, and observing behavior having an effect on outcome (but way more messed up)
Quoted from EaglePin:Started watching Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix. Through three episodes and liking it.
Yeah! One of the best series last year imo

It was pretty good, although I thought The Haunting of Hill House was a lot better.

My favorite of his series was Midnight Mass, though I may be in the minority on that one. Hill House was a close second.

Never even heard about this one! Thank you, added it to the list.
Started watching Ripley on Netflix, very good. It’s slow in the first two episodes, but picks up a lot in episode 3.
Quoted from Nokoro:My favorite of his series was Midnight Mass, though I may be in the minority on that one. Hill House was a close second.
Midnight Mass just had too many long monologues. Better than Bly Manor at least.

That was a very good mini-series
I am halfway through Parasyte (Netflix) and am liking it so far. Its a Korean sci-fi limited series… kind of like a cross between The Strain and Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
Edit: Finished it. Was entertaining but it’s not gonna win any awards or anything.

That is a side story to 2 previous movies. I recommend both. It seems a bit kiddish at first, but they are pretty brutal body horror.

I will definitely be looking for those… thanks!
Quoted from BMore-Pinball:6 episodes into Justified - A few of you posted it was a great show, just not clicking with me.
Does it get better?
Yes. It's been a few years but as I remember it Season 1 has a fair amount of free-standing "crime of the week" episodes that don't really land. I think by Season 2 they've got their rhythm and have longer-running storylines that at least in my opinion work well.
If you're not a fan of Oliphant or Goggins though you should bail now, since they're basically the show!

Been following him since the Shield - one of my favorite actors
And speaking of Mr. Goggins… I just finished Fallout. They did a great job with it.
Was both nostalgic (even brought up old memories of playing Wasteland that had been lost to me) as well as entertaining. I really enjoyed it.

good to hear. haven't got to it yet.

Starting "THoH House", now. I have big expectations!
Quoted from JMK:THOHH is great! Turn off the lights for the complete experience.
OH nice! It is way creepier the second time after you know
Quoted from skink91:speaking of Mr. Goggins… I just finished Fallout. They did a great job with it.
Nice, I figured there'd be some Fallout watchers in here so I rewatched True Detective S1 and waited for the reviews to come in. Guess I'll give it a spin this weekend!

Walton Goggins is a great actor and perfect for the role and fallout is definitely entertaining so far after two episodes. I started watching Fallout after giving up on Mr and Mrs Smith. I don't give up on shows very often once I've seen the first few episodes. Its not terrible, but it is also not good and filled with cringe worthy bad dialog. Maybe something to do with the writer's strike?
Speaking of terrible. True Detective season 4. I finished the whole season just because I really like Jodie Foster and figured it had to get better after the first few episodes. It didn't. It did the impossible and continued to get worse and finished with no redeeming value whatsoever. It is in my top 5 worst TV shows ever.
Huh, goes to show you, different strokes for different folks. I really enjoyed TD S4. It def got a bit out there at times, but I found it an interesting season.
However, I do like Walter Goggins- funny as hell in Vice Principals.

Vice Principals was awesome. Thank you for reminding me, I need to rewatch it some day.
Quoted from John_I:Speaking of terrible. True Detective season 4.
Sorry man. I bailed after episode 3, felt like it was going nowhere fast and my googling to check the ending confirmed it. I’m one of the pocket libs around here so it wasn’t the woman-centric storytelling that bothered me. But lazy checked-out script writing doesn’t work regardless of your political or social views. Bummer, because Jodie Foster is a fantastic actor and her skills are wasted on bullshit like this. Put her in TD Season 1 and she would shine.

Was he in True Detective S1? I guess I'm checking that out again...

I almost gave up on Mr & Mrs Smith as well, but I ended up watching I think the 4th episode, and it suddenly got good again. Ron Perlman is in a later episode which is GREAT.

I enjoyed TD S4 as well, but it was a little underwhelming. I think they overplayed their hand with the supernatural teases, and then didn't really deliver. Same issue I had with S1 actually. DAMN IT Jodie Foster is amazing though. I liked the other actress too - she's a champion boxer. Not as skilled in the acting department but I dug the intensity she brought, and the awful scene(s) with her sister. those were just a dagger through the heart.
Quoted from Azmodeus:I am very much enjoying fallout. I did not play the game but I fully appreciate the whole thing.
My fiancée said “is this a joke.”
She is not a born gamer like me. So it makes sense, it is not her thing.
To me / pretty dang fun.

I mean it IS kind of a joke. They've taken the violence to Paul Verhoeven levels. There's not THAT much in the way of plot but I like they way they're handling the mysteries of the vault.
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:Was he in True Detective S1? I guess I'm checking that out again...
No Goggins in TD S1, I was just killing a little time with the rewatch!
Larry David in curb your enthusiasm ends this year but has had many great seasons.
Maybe the funniest show of all time.
Quoted from fosaisu:No Goggins in TD S1, I was just killing a little time with the rewatch!
Gotcha, not sure how I came up with that. No spoilers! We are still halfway through
Walton Goggins is in the Righteous Gemstones on Max. Not the greatest show I've seen, but it has a great cast and some funny moments. Goggins' character is my favorite.
Not a show (but it almost was); I’m watching The Nice Guys with Russel Crowe. This has got to be one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen

I loved every second of that show.
