In the show threads, it’s easiest just to post what you have available and when/how you can get it to TPF. No pricing, just games or parts. Then once someone sends you a DM you can talk pricing.

Not to beat a dead horse, but all I said was I had a ##### for sale or trade. No mention of price at all.

And that was enough for me to get moderated. Honestly I was a little surprised that triggered a moderator response. I feel like I see people posting what they have to trade/sell all the time in event forums like these. Perhaps the policy has recently changed.

Pinballs over 3k+ are only allowed on the market and in event threads. Event threads can also link to market place ads. This website only exists due to donations and market fees, and it certainly would not be here otherwise.

3k+ ads are not supposed to be made in regional threads or any other areas outside of those mentioned above.

Marioparty34 had a listing in a regional thread, which was why it was modded.

I feel that this hasn't been explained well in the FAQ of the forum, and a lot of people simply don't know. I have brought it up to the mod team, and it is being discussed.

I have removed the specific games I am looking to trade (though it was within the rules on this thread to do so) as to not ruffle any feathers.

Ok, let me rephrase so it's a bit more clear:

Games that are $3k+ need to have an accompanying ad in the marketplace before they can be posted in a regional for-sale sub-forum thread.

There is currently no rule in place about event threads...they're a bit of a different animal.

However, since we had a complaint, we will likely need to discuss the matter of event threads and what will be happening with them going forward.

Sorry to cause all this confusion. I have never been moderated in the 5 years I have been on here. I did not realize posting a for sale/trade in a regional forum was against Pinside rules.

I know ignorance is not an excuse and I understand that my post should be deleted based upon the official rules. However, if you (moderators) can find it in your heart to remove the violation on my profile page, I would very much appreciate it. Or at least give me a badge for it. lol.

I’m all for Pinside getting revenue and I support the marketplace fees etc.

I also think these are different. It would be a shame to not be able to discuss potential deals to be made in person at a show. I don’t have the words for it at the moment. It feels a bit over reaching to require a marketplace ad for me to say something like, “I have a (insert title) Pro that I could deliver to the show if anyone is interested. PM to discuss”.

Right, that's why I mentioned these threads were a bit different than the regional for sale threads. Those threads are clearly for listing games/stuff for sale. The events threads have typically been much more casual/informal and off-the-cuff.
