caps (resized).jpg

I'm going to replace all the caps on the soundboard of my LW3 to weed out some volume issues.
As I go to start ordering my replacements, I see there's just shy of a million options available and every difference means nothing to me!

Please take a look at my cart and let me know if I'm good to order, way out to lunch, or what exactly should I be looking for?

you need to check the 'lead pitch'.

the lead pitch is the distance between the legs.

it will be in specs.

if your original board has for example a cap that has a 10mm lead pitch and you've ordered one with a 5mm lead pitch, well it won't go in snug.

Thank you, I'll figure that out tonight and add those specs to the filters!

For an application like this, do I need to worry about ripple, temperature, and series?

some of those specs may be on the existing caps, but by 'series' it may mean radial or axial, and all yours selected are radial.

axial have the legs coming from the sides instead of underneath.

there will definitely others on Pinside that are more knowledgeable in that area.

i don't know the original caps you are replacing, but personally if i can get the same cap to suit but at a higher voltage then i'll choose that one.
like next voltage higher, if yours it rated 16VDC I'd go 25VDC for example.

also if the caps you are replacing are a particular size in diameter, make sure you get the same if the cap is in a tight area or a larger cap won't fit.
