More parts cleaned. The cabinet screen got painted and installed. Then I put the head on the cabinet. I finally got to place the T-molding. (Chrome). You have to cut a notch at the turns so it will lay down well in them. Next is to install the Pin2Dmd and the backglass. I need to get back on the playfield clear coating soon. That’s going to be the biggest holdup to completion.

Been watching. This is going to be an amazing Gilligan, nicely done.
Quoted from Mank:I’ll always have a soft spot for Gilligan. That game is going to be amazing. Well done

Thanks Guys! Today I need to use an eye dropper and place some clear in a couple of low spots. I’m also learning to navigate the Silhouette software in order to cut the stencils I need to airbrush the playfield where needed.
Even after my first layer of clear, the letter “n” in lagoon didn’t look any better. I took a razor blade and removed the clear layer and cut out the ghosting in that area. I prepared and taped up the areas that were low and needed some clear to build them up. I purposely didn’t fill up the places to overflowing. It would be hard to sand it down flat without messing up the surrounding areas. Now I can sand it lightly to get it ready. Plus I can build them up some more if need be after the next full coats of clear.
I also got some plastics ready. The old ones were very dirty, but much more vibrant than the new ones. But the new ones are still great. Shout out to my Secret Santa for how we you are. The plastic set you gave me is coming in handy big time. The SS Minnow plastic doesn’t have the third mounting hole like the old one. I prefer that hole not there. The light will disperse better.

you are your harshest critic
Attempt number 2. I learned a lot this time around. For 1 I used my magnifiers I use for work. Being able to see it super close made a big difference. I also took a tiny brush I have and removed a few bristles to make it super fine. There is still room for improvement, but I’m going to go with this one. It was a good learning experience.
First pic is my first painting attempt. The second is my second.
