What's a Classic Movie You Have NOT Seen? Vote!!! Post #119 in topic

Posted 7 days ago by JeffZee – in Sights and sounds ‐ Last reply 6 days ago

I have never watched the Wizard of Oz. When I was in grade school I was compelled to participate in their production of Wizard of Oz against my will. It may have been 50 years ago, but the 12th & Marion Elementary School of Reading, Pennsylvania can take the Wizard of Oz and cram it up their collective ass (not that I'm bitter about it).

Is Pinball Dying? What I think (coming from a 15y/o) Post #263 in topic

Posted 99 days ago by stubborngamer – in All Pinball ‐ Last reply 42 days ago

I think a lot of us wouldn't be here if Wizard of Oz never came out, or Keith Elwin was not birthed. We talk about themes all day and all night because we can't think of what that great new thing in a pinball machine is that we want. I will say this, Insider Connected is not designed in a way that would attract the kiddies, it's a online thing designed by old farts that can't even follow a basic template that others have already laid out for them.

And WOZEC!?! Pinsider Cam2000 had great results with HerculEASE and Wizard of Oz. I expect you'd have the exact same results! From looking at the JJP manual, I believe HerculEASE is great for any variant of Woz. The instructions were updated last week to show how a "cabinet" install works (such as used in Woz and Hobbit) vs. a backbox (such as GNR, DI, POTC, WONKA). If you take a look at the instructions and have any questions, before or after purchase, please let me know. -- Altan

(shrugs) Pinballs have always been about garish, attention grabbing lights, and noise. My favorite off color joke: Wife says "When we make love, I want lights to flash and bells to ring", so they did it on the pinball machine! You can do reaallly bad things with LEDs. Clown-puke is a thing. But I still remember vividly the first Wizard of Oz pinball I saw, with the LED's pulsing like an emerald heart. Magical.

Tom Wilson is probably the only ... sounds like his younger self, Lea Thompson is marginal (she's starting to get a little bit of raspiness from age). Michael J fox's voice is far too affected by parkinsons. Christopher Lloyd's age ... a filter. When I watch the muppets in the later years, I'm not like "Heyyy, that's not frank oz, I'm out!"
