Here is an unfinished prototype whitewood for Stargate. This design is vastly different than what ended up as the final layout. However, it is still a very interesting and unique layout that's different from pretty much any other Gottlieb game. From what I understand, it was designed by Ray Tanzer.
There are ball diverter mechs allowing multiple paths for balls, as well as a stargate ramp, lower playfield with a captive ball, 3 pop bumpers, and VUK.
The playfield has various handwritten inserts similar to the labels found on the production stargate game.
There is no code for this game. My original plan was to turn it into a homebrew platform to get it flipping, but I never got around to it.
The boardset in the game did boot using a standard set of stargate ROMs. However, they have not been tested in a while, nor connected to a playfield, so inputs/outputs are completely untested. Also, the MA-2112 aux sound board in the backbox is for strikes n spares only, but I have an MA-1770 aux sound board and aux power supply in the stash of parts.
Caution: since there are unfinished connectors on the playfield, those will need to be insulated or inserted into connectors before connecting the game to any boards.
This is in a plain blue system 3 cabinet with some handwritten notes on it, and what looks like a standard SFII backbox. The DMD speaker panel plastic is from Tee'd Off.
A shooter rod cannot be used with the auto-launcher on this playfield, and the cabinet isn't cut for an auto-launch button, so some adjustment will need to be made there.
I have some spare playfield mechs and parts that I've collected to try to fill in some missing pieces (spare black ramp arch, playfield apron, drop target assembly, plus other parts I'm probably forgetting about).
Sorry, there are no legs included.
