Trivia

  • Up on the Scared Stiff backglass, Elvira has a few old movie tapes. One of the tapes is called "Black Friday" by "UM Productions". Its rumored that this was drawn in to commemorate a Friday that a bunch of Williams employees were laid off on, which included most of the SS team. The "UM" is speculated to stand for "Upper Management".
  • Up on the Scared Stiff backglass, Elvira is laying on a bed. By her feet is some batteries near a flashlight. Its stated that there was no flashlight there before, in the early concept designs. Cassandra Peterson, who plays Elvira, was rumored to be a big fan of battery operated devices (*hint hint*). In order to avoid complaints, a flashlight was added to the backglass.
  • On the side-art for Scared Stiff, an "RRR" rating has a claw mark across it to avoid complaints; "Rude Raunchy and Ribbed for her pleasure" logo.
  • Scared Stiff included a decal to place over Elvira's cleavage, for family-friendly locations. There is also a Family Mode that can be turned on by the operator for similar reasons, this removes the more naughty voice-lines.
  • The "Bad Head" reward on the dot matrix for Scared Stiff, is reportedly Steve Ritchie drawn by artist Pat McMahon.
  • There are many humorous suggestive images on the Scared Stiff playfield. Look for the "Stiff in the Coffin" in the center of the playfield. Notice anything funny about the placement of his top hat?
