Pretty impressive game with great shots from easy to hard which is what you want, great theme integration and nothing better then hearing the dar dum dar dum! Only early code but it is a fun shooter for sure and has some great features like the flip lock, shark coming out the playfield, even hearing the spinners going off like real fishing reels it’s pretty cool, upper playfield is great with 3 exits and a few shots that reward your skills.

Over all another masterpiece by Keith and definitely will get better and better with more code.

I wasn't ever going to play the game due to theme but it is now my favorite pin. Love it.

Came over from the UK to TPF this year and played a load of jaws premium. Really great pin, shoots well, great rules, stunning artwork, I think it could end up being another elwin in great.

Enjoyable game with great video integration. The upper playfield doesn't give you much to do. It has another fishing reel spinner, which is already present on the playfield. Bashing the shark is fun and a major improvement over the pro version
I think this game may get repetitive in a home environment. There just aren't that many shots and only so much video.

After playing the pro everyday for one month , really enjoyed the premium , even better , Many shots , fast pin , great flow

Old school photoshop artwork ( remember Stern older era : 24h , Game of Thrones...) But the gameplay is great !

I like the rules and atmosphere , and never get bored !

Scored 892m on location ( wide gap ) losing 2 balls very quickly (

Going in im already invested in the theme and enjoy fishing in general. Was skeptical with the pro vs premium until i played the premium at a local arcade and the pro at a expo. Not that i would be unhappy with the pro, but i opted for the premium because i like the added challenge of the upper play field shot combos that feel so good when achieved. The shark mech adds suspense and a pinball moment for me. That being said I think I'd be almost as happy with the pro but being i want to keep this game for a long time the premium has more lastibility.

Owning godzilla, lord of the rings, and the shadow i rate jaws on equal par, if not my favorite of the 4 so far but will edit this review in a couple months.

Overall. Great shooter for more advanced players and enjoyable for beginner players just excited to hit the shark when he pops up.

As the code further developes even more i see jaws as being a top 5 pin to me for a long time.

Played about 30 games of Jaws and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Shots are fun and I keep wanting to play. I have it in a lineup with about 20 other pinballs and its getting played frequently at my arcade. I think it has lasting power as well. I do prefer the premium over the Pro by quite a margin. Happy I have it in the collection.

Jaws is a fantastic pin to own or play on location. You’re not on the upper playfield very long but it’s rewarding to hit it up there. The shark coming in and out of the playfield is cool to witness too. I definitely want to own this game in the future. Has that one more game feel to it.

I’ve owned this game now for a week, after the latest code update I decided I’m going to review it. I have five pins total and three of them are new. I’ve mainly played Jaws and this game just makes me want to play it more and more each time. I have put hours into this machine and for me this game is an absolute masterpiece. It belongs in the top three with Godzilla and Jurassic Park. The amount of ramps that go in all different directions was mind boggling at first, then now I see that upper playfield is really just a sideways shot. A moving target is a rarity in pinball and should be used more often in my opinion. The little flipper on the right is an odd but satisfying shot to make, seems a little off at first but really it’s just there for the drop targets. Unique ball capture with the little flipper is a clever design. The right side ball drain has a post to hit and a gate for you to be able to give the machine a bump and put it back into play. Very clever. My only not liking is the art package for the premium, I’m not a fan. The pro looks better but it’s my opinion.

Now that Ive had the game awhile it has become one of my favourite pins ever. From the theme to its gameplay its pretty much perfect in my book. Just fantastic theming with the movie clips and gameplay, really great choices were made with the assets. Lighting is phenomenal, even in the early stages the coding is on point, rules are fun and easily understandable while not being easy to pulll off. Just an all around great game that keeps me hitting the start button again and again. I deducted points due to the the ball exiting the fishing wheel often awkwardly and the airballs due to the chum line slot, hopefully the mod Ive ordered fixes those issues. Also no Brody on the artwork is greatly disappointing tho that's not the fault of the designers and is due to the actors estate. Overall a great pinball even better if you love the film.

Played this out in Vegas at the Pinball Hall of Fame, loved it. almost made the scoreboard with 500mil. Love the shots and the theme, the LE is now on my list of wants, hope to have 1 sooner than later. I'm really a fan of Keith's layouts, I have 2 other of his machines Jurassic Park and Avengers. Can't wait to get an LE in my collection.

pre-ordered a premium immediately after the reveal, because like Godzilla, it was instantly clear to me what a unique and creative machine Jaws is.

I’ve owned Jurassic Park and currently also own a Godzilla.

I sold Jurassic Park recently, because theme-wise, while I’m more of a Jurassic Park fan, Jaws is simply executed better.

From the soundtrack to callouts to music to shots to rules, Jaws is just way more fun than Jurassic Park.

Is it better than Godzilla? If 0.87 code is any indication, it absolutely could be, but it’s difficult to say at this moment. Overall, my instinct is to say “no”. Godzilla is just such a perfect game, and Jaws has a few key flaws.

The shot to the reel spinner on the right is marred by airballs. Whether that’s the cause of flex in the chumline plastic or the spinner’s post protector rail, I’m not certain, but I am certain this flaw cannot be fixed with code. Stern will either need to fix this problem or owners will need mods, but no matter how you slice it, it’s an unfortunate oversight in an otherwise sublime layout.

I debated docking a point for layout, but even with this glaring problem, it’s still better than most layouts. Is it better than Godzilla’s layout? It’s not a difficult argument to be made, as there are just so many satisfying and creative shots. Some people say the upper playfield doesn’t add much because it’s difficult to shoot and achieve… are wizard modes also not adding value? It’s nice to have some difficult, rarely accessed shots, because when you rip that reel spinner or loop on the upper playfield, you feel like a god.

I’ll die on the hill that the 180 wave ramp path to the upper playfield, to the 180 tower ramp shot, to the 180 wire form, to the 180 left orbit spinner might be the most satisfying sequence of shots in the history of pinball. I feel sorry for those who can’t experience the adrenaline high of making that shot. Travis Murie (11th in the world last year) recently talked about making that shot for the first time and immediately stopping his game to call someone about how amazing it is.

But pretty much everything about this game is incredible:

Code is outstanding especially for 0.87

Art is minimal, and nearly theme-perfect. As someone who currently owns 5 Zombie Yeti games and considers him to be THE best pinball artist of all time, it’s kinda nice to a have a more paired back playfield. The theme is water, and a lot of the art is water…. What do you expect? Elaborate murals depicting sharks eating pinballs?

Video assets are Stern’s best-to-date by far. The sheer amount of end-of-ball clips is brilliant, and makes you wonder why it hasn’t been done before.

The upper right flipper’s ability to trap and lock balls during multi ball is just another flash of brilliance on a game that is absolutely shining with unique, fun, original ideas.

The video mode is the best video mode in any pinball machine I’ve ever played.

Between the iconic Jaws theme and other John Williams score pieces, it can sound a little same, but it’s a lot better than I would have thought. The celebration music after reeling in a shark is exactly the kind of light and fun moments that make this game great and put a smile on my face.

The game has a lot more heart and humor than I was expecting, just like Godzilla.

We already have Godzilla, I don’t want another. We got the perfect game to eat a ball - the trex on Jurassic park, I don’t want another.

When you open yourself to the originality and brilliance of Jaws, you’ll realize another future classic is right in front of you.

Pretty good game. Just not a big fan of the little mini orbits or the vertical spinners.

I had an opportunity to play a premium at TPF. I didn’t think I would like this pin but after playing about 20 games, I was hooked. I was so happy with game play that I put a deposit on one. I am a 90ies era gamer and this will be my first NIB Stern.

Love the movie, love the game! The game is really fun to play. Its beautiful. Overall its awesome! I think they could have added a few more lights to give the game some overall brightness as it is a little dark. I am adding Pinstadiums to make up for the lack of lighting.

I love the theme (in general), artwork and music, but I have some reservations about the layout and some specific theme elements.

The layout is great and I would love to explore this game more (locking mini-flipper!), but I do not like the upper playfield at all (in general, I don't like upper playfields). When I get a chance to play a Pro, I'm interested to see how it flows without the upper.

My biggest hang-up with the game is the missed opportunity of not shooting the ball into the shark's mouth. It would be so perfectly thematic! I mean (spoilers ahead!), in the movie they literally shove a scuba tank into Bruce's mouth and then shoot the tank (in his mouth) with a rifle! I just want to shoot the ball into the shark's mouth to blow it up! Even without the explosion it could have been amazing :-) Instead I impotently bash the shark's head :-(

Oh, and the chum bucket grosses me out

I feel like Jaws Premium could have been great (the movie clips, audio callouts, music *are* great), but in the end I just think it's really good (which isn't bad!). Even if I could shoot the ball in the shark's mouth, I'd still have that upper playfield. On the Pro, the upper playfield is gone but so is the shark toy.

EDIT: In response to the "bogus" flags, my first plays on the Premium were on 3/19/2024 at The Pinball Palace in Brunswick, GA, and most of my specific ratings for this game are at or near the top. You may not like my opinions, but they aren't bogus :-)

Also, I think those without my hangups about the shark, chum bucket and upper playfield will probably enjoy this game a lot. Pretty much everything else is great or near-great!

I played the Jaws Premium machine on location at a local bar that just added Jaws to their lineup of machines. I will have to say the movie clips and callouts on this machine are top notch and the shots felt very dangerous. Playing a couple of games, I was able to launch Jaws Multiball Part 1 and Pond Attack in the same game and was able to stack some points in the Pond Attack mode. I also hit the shark fin straight on in my first attempt to do so and the ball immediately ricocheted of the fin and right down the middle of the playfield and into the drain before I could react. Very satisfying shots and I think this game will be another classic game from Team Elwin at Stern Pinball.

Finally jaws has arrived! This game is absolutely a keeper. The game has the assets for all 4 jaws movies. It sucks that Brody wasn't able to be put on the playfield but Quint is where its at anyway. Elwin worked his magic with a game that has great, unique shots. The mini right flipper is pretty awesome and the ability to lock during multiball is really neat and useful. Yes the game should have done something different with the shark but its still integrated well and the game just pulls you in. If you haven't played in a home environment, you probably don't get to hear all the awesome things going on with the audio. The upper playfield, which normally I am not a fan of, is not my favorite. There is no way to just keep the ball up there since it moves through so quickly. Its also a tough shot to get up there. Can't wait to see where the rest of the code takes this, but 0.86 is already great! Great job Elwin and team!

I made the bet to order the Jaws premium before trying it. I have to say I absolutely regret nothing, just like the movie, Jaws pinball is an instant classic!

The gameplay is simply superb, easy to enjoy no matter your skill level. Without being too complicated, the code remains deep, the modes, and the layout of the playfield fit the theme very well. With Bruce, the bash toy under the boat, and the motorized shark fin, the experience is simply mind-blowing. The idea of bounty hunters spreading blood in the water to attract prey is excellent.

Almost perfection, definitely a keeper and hard not to replay it again and again...

Put some time in on this at TPF. The premium is definitely better than the pro but still just not up to Godzilla or Jurassic Park. The ramp/wireform shots are cool and interesting, the upper playfield is well executed. The moving fin target is fun and innovative. Overall though, the game just felt a little average to me. It’s a solid game and certainly better than Venom. It’s not better from a game play perspective than Foo Fighters in my opinion. Unfortunately Elwin is a victim of his own success, we have Godzilla, JP and Maiden to compare this game to and it just doesn’t stack up to those.

Played jaws premium and I was surprised on how much fun this game was. Shots were pretty smooth once you got them dialed in and the flow was really nice. If you haven't played, I would give it a try. You might be surprised too...

This is another example of the greatness of Elwin. I had zero interest in this game…..Jaws was not a theme I was remotely interested in….but then I saw the trailer and said this looks amazing. I bought a premium and it has been incredible. Very deep code and still fun for my casual player friends. I wish all Stern games were as fun as this one. All of the movie clips and call outs you could ask for with a packed playfield with tons of interesting shots. Instant classic!
