I have noticed what seems to be a superfluous black rubber band obstructing an area just to the right of the boulder garden. It came this way when I bought the machine. Can anyone verify that it’s not supposed to be there? Thanks for any help.

Can't tell exactly because I can't see the post on the other end, but isn't that rubber placed there to keep the ball out of the more direct path thru the pops to the outline drain? Someone who knows better than I will confirm or deny, I'm sure.

I thought the same thing when i saw it. I left it on there. I think the conclusion ui cane to was that it is supposed to be there, it was a while ago.

It is definitely preventing the ball from traveling down and right from the boulder garden, between the right and bottom pop bumpers. This prevents it from going down towards the right outlane, and diverts all balls exiting the boulder garden towards the flippers.

I was just wondering if this is something that is commonly placed there by owners to prevent more drains, as I know the right outlane is evil. I assume it didn’t come from the factory that way. I’m thinking about removing it.

I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to respond.

The previous owner of mine took that rubber out for more pops action and I’m leaving it out after seeing the stats from this post —

I like it OUT. It can sometimes be maddening with the drains, but that's the rub of the green.
