Had this issue before fully shopping out Space Jam and after. A random ball will get stuck up top under the basketball where it should feed to the wire ramp heading down the playfield but gets stuck before it makes it onto the ramp. See pics.

Wondering if others have consistently experienced this happening and have found a way to resolve the hang up.
Seems to happen almost every game, sometimes more than once in a game, where I have to slide glass down and remove the ball to continue.

Thanks in advance if you have any tips to share...

Is the coil not lined up properly? Firing the ball in a slight down ward motion? Try to adjust with a washer under one end or something

Unique design. Don't know if you have had any experience with this title but the ball is shot straight up off the playfield and caught or moved by magnet under the 1/2 basketball plastic. Not sure if the magnet has a pulse that throws it forward or not. About every 8th pinball will get stuck per my pic.

I’m very familiar. Once it’s kicked vertically into the magnet there are 2 coils each one shoots to a different wire form. Once the ball is held by the magnet is the coil that kicks it to the wire form bent or not aligned properly.

Also check in the test function and make sure both coils are firing consistently. It sounds like maybe you have a coil that’s not always firing and when the magnetic demagnetizes the ball drops onto that spot. Proper function is the magnet holding the ball in place so the coil can kick it away into the wire form. Posting a video of it happening would be helpful if you can’t get it resolved.

Will try the test fires on the 2 coils. It's always just the downhill wireform one that gets stuck.
Question: Can you actually lay a ball in there like my pic or are your wireforms adjusted as such that can't even happen?

Can someone explain to me the magnet adjustment. the one with the flat headed slot and the lock nut?
Currently, if I feel where the ball is held, there is a slight concave indent. Does turning the screw raise or lower the "concave" area so the ball might be higher when the ball is struck by the plunger. Both coils seem to be firing the plunger the same distance. There is no spot for the ball to "hang" when it comes out onto the 9PM oriented wireform. It would just fall back down. Could somebody post a pic of the wireform "intersection" under the basketball so I can compare? It's possible the middle rung on the downhill wireform is bent down too low or not high enough at it's start.

No issue with the magnet holding the ball while the plunger kicks ball downward onto the wireform. Maybe it's the center rail of the wireform in my pic is bent to low. Trying to get a pic of how this wireform originally looked.

Sorry i currently don’t have this title or I’d post some photos. But yes the magnet will hold it and the plunger should hit it horizontally into the wire form not downward at all

It should be an easy adjustment

I would agree with you but I have no other SJ to compare it to right now.

I've looked for replacement wireforms to see if I could find a pic of one to compare as well.

There is no issues with the 2 coils firing and striking the held ball. I don't see any "built-in" adjustments to tinker with at this "intersection".
All I could so is bend the wireform or add an extension to the one plunger so maybe it will hit it sooner and further down the wireform.

I'll try to get a picture later today

Thanks. I also checked my playfield angle with a digital level. Vertical slope on the playfield is 7.5 degrees. So I feel steep enough.

Does it make a difference which wireform goes onto the lower spacer mount first?
You can see in my pic that the downward exit wireform is on the spacer first and the left exit wireform is on top of that. Maybe it's reversed?
That would make a small difference in the height of the downward wireform entrance point if I flip them.

Bump...

Just trying to see if there is issue with the position of downhill wireform allowing a struck ball off the magnet to fall short of entering wireform as shown in the picture. Can someone check their SJ for me?

Thanks.

Still trying to find a pic of the wireform intersection either online or from a user. Ball still hanging up in that wireform "gap" randomly.

Anyone?

Thanks!

Here you go. Taken from an old blown out spare playfield

Thanks for posting so many pics. I think the gap is the same on yours as mine.
It appears a ball could "nest" in the gap between wireforms on your playfield as well.

I came up with a solution I am trying now. It basically is a piece of heat shrink tubing I put on the lower and the left exit wireform junction so a ball could not "nest" there. So far I have not had a stuck ball but am concerned it will come off at some point. So far in 4 games it has not and no stuck ball.
