Quoted from stashyboy:

Some great titles there, but condition looks terrible. Water and vermin damage. Maybe some good parts, but 3500 is way too much, more like 350. Sad to see classic games neglected. Not the first time, nor the last....

I’d be surprised if one didn’t have a mouse house or mold. 350 is cheaper than the cost of a dumpster.

The seller’s father collected for decades and has sold pins the last couple of years. I don’t think they’d be leaving anything of value in this sale.

I just pushed these out to the curb.

Yeah, just pushed them back. Guy stopped and said he’ll be back in an hour with his truck. I knew they wouldn’t last long.

Exactly. They've already been through everything and pulled anything worth fixing/saving.

No. LOL. The area 51 is on wheels I installed a few years ago.

For $895.00. I am not surprised. That's a tough pin to play. Old school kick your ass kind of pin. I'd like to have one.

So true... always enjoy getting brutalized on this game. Simple but deadly.

A couple of weeks ago I was driving by just as a woman had sat a large box of toys at the curb. I stopped, looked, and loaded up.

There were 6 14" rubber dinosaurs in the box. Plus some other toys and a picture of all the Marvel characters. i took the toys to sell at the Friday night auction. The 6 rubber dinosaurs brought $13.00 each and the picture brought $15.00. A couple of other toys came in at $20.00 and I still had items left to sell when I left auction early. I'll pick up the check Tuesday and figure I will net $100.00 for just picking up a box of toys at the curb.

You’re considering an eight hour one way drive for a pin you don’t want and don’t have room for. Mission accomplished!

I had a Star Trek that was in a basement hidden bar for decades that clearly been soaked with water, the delamination & rot was impressive.

How the playfield avoided being damaged is beyond me, everything else was toasted.

Well...that could be taken two different ways. It could fall apart...or be sold quickly. Down Tx. way this pin is rare find.

Did you test the fuses? Could have been a bad fuse, probably would have booted right up.

I should load up a u-haul full of old EMs and head your way, I guess.

I've honestly considered that at times. If something is worth 30% more somewhere else.....seems like there'd be money to be made, even after shipping?

All of this reminds me of a VP that asked me to come to his place and put a value to an old "pinball machine". I discovered that it was actually a bingo machine and was sitting on the dirt floor of his barn. It was absolutely shot. He was under the impression it was worth some coin, and was a bit put off by my assessment of it being firewood. Eh.

The playfield will end up on my universal cabinet, I think 3 displays were good, the SDB had a bad driver, one or two lamp drivers were out on LDB and the MPU was decent but had minor boot issue and is in my repair pile on bench.

Texas absolutely carries a premium on pin prices. There are tons of collectors down here with disposable incomes. The cost of living here is low comparative to most places, so many spend the extra money on their "toys."

We don't have that issue in Kentucky. There are more collectors around Louisville than I would have anticipated, but it's not exactly a destination for vacation or retirement. In fact, I can't wait to get to a point when I can move elsewhere....
