    Quoted from BrianMadden:

New FAST Pinball product announcement: Cabinet I/O board
We just released our cabinet I/O board, a special purpose I/O board designed for placement in the pinball cabinet itself (typically mounted on the left side near the front of the machine). This board handles I/O for all cabinet switches (flipper buttons, start button, tilt, etc.), as well as the coin door interface, a bill validator or ticket reader, low current drivers for LEDs (for the coin door and lighted buttons), a single high-current driver (typically for a knocker). It receives power via a dedicated header on the Playfield Interchange Board and also features a dedicated high-current 12V power output header for powering a shaker motor or other 12V devices in the cabinet.

Man if stuff like these illustrations is what you’ve been waiting for, check out the complete wiring guide for the entire FAST modern platform: https://fastpinball.com/wiring/neuron/

It's like 20 guides with tons of illustrations walking you through complete wiring of an entire machine (and in the safe and most proper way that could pass FCC and UL testing)... They’re fun reads for geeks, and seriously, they will make you smarter about pinball machine wiring in general (even if you never intend to build a homebrew).

random illustrations from random pages in that guide:

If I buy a Funhouse 2.0 kit, can I also use that kit to develop my own game?

Hello! We (FAST) don't support modifications of customer products built with FAST boards.

We will be selling the boards like those used in conversation kits like Funhouse Rudy's Nightmare in early 2024. FINALLY!!!

I have a Funhouse and have purchased the retro kit. I would also like to write my own custom version of Funhouse in the future. Is this possible, or would I need to purchase another Fast retro board?

We will be starting that up in January. More details on that next month. Thank you to everyone for their patience. With the recent announcements, I think people can see why we have been so busy.

The thing I love about talking to Aaron is that his passion and knowledge need only the slightest provocation to come spilling out. Always a wealth of great stories and limitless energy. Great seeing you and hearing about all the new work in the pipelines - it's evident that FAST is going from strength the strength.

Thanks stumblor for the kind words! It was great chatting with you at TPF. We had such a great time hanging out with friends, old and new. It really does recharge the batteries.

Hi all, I’m Kevin and looking to join the club soon . I have worked as a carpenter both rough and finish work along with commercial welding the first stretch of life. I have worked with sheet metal for a stint and now am a building engineer where pneumatic and electric controls are my thing. Not saying this will be a walk in the park at all as if it were, I wouldn’t be interested. I’m doing this for the challenge and to meet a dynamic new group of people.
I still have a busy life, but things are settling down enough to get started. I’ve been reading and watching a lot of content lately and have cut some spare plywood to get the ball rolling. I’m just playing around with designs manually with foam board, card board and some hanging wire for now, but will pop back in when I’m ready to roll.
I’m in my mid 50s and have sacrificed my body enough at this point. Time to use my mind more and this has lead me to the perfect theme which I’ll reveal when ready to. This is not a sprint but a marathon, so I’m going to read thru the thread, study up more, and I’ll be back when I feel ready. Just wanted to say Hi!
