sorry weird the link doesn't work here

do a search on ebay for
King Kong...One of the rarest games in history

auction ends Aug 27th
item location is Silver Spring, Maryland, US
33 bids and up to $18127.27

info is
EXTREMELY RARE 1990 "PROTOTYPE" GAME. ONLY NINE UNITS EVER MADE.
This game is part of the owner's private collection.

Each of the nine games were different from each other; specifically in the flipper lengths. This is the only game featuring extended-size flippers in all three locations. While none of the other 8 games were ever completely finalized (play-field plastics) this one is completely functional and, as stated above, a truly rare and unique collector's item. This game will never be produced again.

While a few details were not finished, the cabinet, play-field, and back-box art were all fully executed for this short production run.
NOTE: The seller had the game upgraded to include the newest Sound-ROM-chips providing the highest level of sound & back-box light animation. This upgrade combined all of the other Sound-ROMS from the other 8 games that were produced. (None of the other eight pinball machines contained all of the Sound-ROMS making this a one-of-a-kind gaming experience.)

The artwork on the body, back-box, and play-field are all fresh and bright. There is no perceptible wear on the play-field. The game features a true back glass, not a trans-light and the artist's signature is clearly displayed. There is no peeling of paint and the mirrored surfaces are all perfect.

Artist: Kevin O'Conner
Other games illustrated by O'Conner include Indiana Jones, Monster Bash, Pirates of the Caribbean, X-Men, The Sopranos, The Lord of the Rings, Dirty Harry, Batman, and many more too numerous to list.
Designed by: Jerry Armstrong

Interesting side-note: The reason for such a short run is that Data East was never able to obtain the rights to go into full production on this game.

Interesting detail: King Kong is climbing the Sears Tower in Chicago, IL rather than following the original story line atop the Empire State Building in New York City. All three national sports teams of Chicago (as of 1992) are represented on the play-field; Chicago Bulls, Bears, and Cubs.

The photos and description are completely accurate and honest. When the machine went into storage it was fully-functional. That said the game is being sold in an 'as is' condition. Seller assumes no responsibility for damages occurring in handling or shipping. Buyer is responsible for arranging crating, shipping, and insurance. We normally used North American Van Lines - Specialized Transportation Division. You can reach them at 1-800-446-3190.

Please contact seller with any other questions.
This is a reserve auction.
