They there !..So Im working on a Centaur 2. Has 4 balls in trough, 1 for drain switch area. When powered on, mpu boots , then I get all zeros on displays. If I activate trough switch 1, the game lights up and flashes etc, but won't start, if I activate switch 1 again..the game starts. The ball is shot from drain area to shooter lane as soon as game boots...when game is on, if the ball drains it just gets shot right back out, no bonus , no recognition that it even drained. I have included some pics..I tested all 3 trough switches, all good. Ball drain switch is working as well..any ideas... pretty bizarre behavior... solenoid driver is fresh re built , works fine in other games...

Might be silly, but have you rechecked and reseated all of the connections?

Are you sure the game has all the balls accounted for? Centaur's main point of fail are the micro-switches in the trough sticking or not registering. As you proved by manually closing the outhole, the game will only run properly if it sees all the necessary switch closures and can account for all its balls. I recommend using switch test to investigate if all the trough switches are registering properly.

Yes I have reseated...and repinned some of the connectors..no change... pretty sure its switch related, the wiring was hacked. I havent been able to get a clear picture of the switches from anyone. I have the manual, but dont see any diagrams that show the switches and wiring. The switches all seem to be ok in switch test... except a few broken targets ....the ball is constantly kicked out after draining...no bonus points or ball advance to #2 ...

Browse the image gallery in the Centaur club thread, there are pictures of the trough switches there that might help:

Attaching the playfield switch wiring schematic. It shows everything you need to know about how the switches are wired. Note the playfield mounted pullup resistor for St5, this is often overlooked when a playfield is swapped out or serviced.
