I got my 2nd stern a few weeks ago-big game. I can’t stop playing it. It’s fast, fun, and so much to do on it.

For me:

#1) Star Gazer is pure pinball fun. 9 drops, 3 spinners and 12 targets. It also has the best sound package of the classic Sterns plus great art.

#2) Seawitch is a great game. You really have to pay attention when playing that one or it will come back to bite you.

#3) Quicksilver - I great well-rounded game.

#4) Meteor - This would be my #3 but the ever-increasing tones drive me to drink. It is like a grade school hearing test.

Maybe it doesn't translate well to a home environment but back in my arcade days the increasing tones was an exciting thing that intensified the game and let everyone else know when you were having a great ball.

Fun topic

This era of games is my current favorite, but not only Sterns.
I’ve had a few come and go, but I’m quite happy with the current line up of
Black Hole
Nine Ball
Eight Ball Deluxe
Gamatron (honorable mention as it came out later but is clearly Flight 2000’s little brother)

Not many in USA but Cosmic Princess should be added to your poll.

Classic Sterns Rock!!!!

Played a freefall today for the first time. Was thinking of getting one but now I’m not sure. Seems ok but at todays prices not sure the price justifies the gameplay, especially compared to the other sterns I’ve already gathered.

Near the bottom for me. I think it's another rules re-write going on but I don't think you can fix that layout.

Best layout is Magic, and the rules can be improved with BSOS https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/replacing-the-m6800-in-a-stern-mpu100-with-an-arduino

I made a Magic code update a few years ago that enhanced the rules a little in the spirit of the era:

Quoted from dtrimberger:

Just picked one up for this specific reason

I bet you got Karl's? Let me know when you are ready for something else... I'd love to be next in line for that Meteor. I grabbed his Atlantis instead, wish I had room for both!
