I use Pinball Bulbs just guessing here but it sounds like you might have a lamp board problem. Does your game have the OCD board in it?

what is an OCD board?
It’s an intermediate circuit board that eliminates the flicker LED bulbs can have when installed in older games that are used to incandescent bulbs. Comet pinball has them.
Selling off figures I was going to add to my game but recently sold my LE to fund another game
I have 5 figures that can be added to your world of Pandora
And score cards I’ll throw in for free ( 1x 3D and 1 not)
I would take $65.00 with Free Shipping (US Only)

thanks! they are not cheapo..
actually I put back the classic bulbs where the flicker was annoying (multiplier X and red arrows) and the rest is LED, now it is smooth
Got some Banshees for Christmas! Nice quality construction. Even react to black light! Quick 6-32 thread pitch tap on the shaft and BAM! And they don’t obscure the view nor hit the glass!IMG_9128 (resized).jpegIMG_9128 (resized).jpegIMG_9128 (resized).jpegIMG_9128 (resized).jpeg

Hey everyone just picked up a 7/10 wear avatar.
Needs some work as the flippers need rebuilding and the left slingshot gos off when mashing the flippers.
I was wondering. Can you put the mech from the LE in the pro?
Can I use a Powerball (white ball found in LE) in the pro.
And any ideas why a slingshot would be going off with flipper mashing? I don't know what the copper pieces are called that activate the sling but their spaced far enough apart that vibration wouldn't be the cause.

you can put the powerball, but it wont have the scoring effect. I would make a separate topic for the mechanical problem, like "Stern Sam slingshot fires when flipper button pushed", because this topic is not that much crowded

You rock thank you. Do you happen to know if the le mech is interchangeable with the pro version?
Quoted from Nicoli125:You rock thank you. Do you happen to know if the le mech is interchangeable with the pro version?
I dont know.. I guess the upper parts maybe, but the leg moving mechsnism not sure. this is just guessing never seen a prem/le
Quoted from Nicoli125:You rock thank you. Do you happen to know if the le mech is interchangeable with the pro version?
No
The Pro / LE have different playfields
To make it work you would have to run wiring and find an assembly
Cut out the field for the feet mounts
Not sure if it’s worth justifying

Looking at the manual, unless some odd wiring was performed on your machine, they are in 2 different circuits. Flippers are 50 volt, slings are 20 volt. In switch test mode, do both switches activate? I would take the rubber off the sling to verify no contact is made for test purposes. Any corrosion noted? I had some targets on early games (1980s) activate due to corrosion shorting out switches.

I will be looking into that this weekend thank you!
Been slowly getting her into shape.
Bought tilt graphics art blades but they don't have hole cutouts so I'll have to wait till I get my powdercoat done next week. This is the color I'm going with.
Added mylar around the magnet and troth.
Installed OCD insert board (love it)
Armour protectors.
Replaced some broken plastics and gave her a good cleaning and waxing.
Speaker lights and inserts on the way.
Flipper fidelity speaker upgrade (wow that sounds good!)
Added power ball.
Mech target had chipping behind it so I put some satin black paint over the outline. Still need to mylar or clear coat that.
Can't wait to get it in tip top shape!
The game is really shaping up well. The guy I bought it from had it since release, and I don't think he did any maintenance. I caught the battery just in time as it was starting to leak. Nothing on the board but it had green around the seal

PXL_20240318_195546597 (resized).jpgThat powder coat will look sick, I do love the chrome on my LE, but that blue looks really sweet. Upgraded speakers really enhance this pin. The old crappy speakers could never emit the sounds as it should have. My friend has FF speakers in his LE, I bought Pinwoofer's kit to have that powered bass, both great choices IMOA. Even though the ceramic ball won't add double scoring, its impressive how fast that ball goes around in the game, especially in the pop area.
Later on, can't hurt to add a color DMD.
Love the color DMD. For anybody wondering the LE Mech is the same as the pro just different colors. Took a gamble and got it to work in the pro. No it does not have the walking feature that the LE has nonetheless much better looking. Three pilot holes on each leg are required for the new Mech that you buy Cheers!
PXL_20240323_191249121 (resized).jpgPXL_20240323_191332409 (resized).jpgShe goes in for powdercoat today flipper issue was bigger than I thought. Bad transistor on the board seems like someone that didn't know what they were doing tried to fix it and ruined the tracers. Luckily no jumper was needed The legs were long enough to solder back on. Flippers rebuilt. And with the transistor fixed The slingshot is no longer going off and I am not getting my flashers to ghost anymore. Quite weird since one is on 20 volt and the other is on 50 volt nonetheless all the issues were fixed with that. Looking forward to the powder coat! Art blades, avatar figures and corporal installed. Right arm screw is being powered coated black since it is visible and bothers my OCD shown in the last photos.

Nice find! Wonder how it was connecting the two power lines, but either way, great find and fix! What size figures and where did you get them? I have been debating on changing mine out, or at least one of them, his foot keeps popping out of the socket.

I believe they are the original Mattel figures from 2011 I bought them off of a guy selling his here on this form so I don't know exactly what they are but they came with that little ID badge that all of the original Mattel toys had including the mechs
They are 3.75-4in tall
Powder coat should be back this weekend just installed some color t-molding

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1E4ojdH3RKAef5IiQfNu7hMYPjDh06Xhi/view?usp=drive_link
you just need to print it on magnetic foil in 565mmx1160mm size.

I’m going to make a run of Scorpion Gunship mods for Avatar LE and Pro machines like I posed to this thread a year ago on page 37. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/avatar-club-open-to-owners-and-the-interested/page/37. I have a question that must be answered before I can offer these.
I modified my LE over ten years ago to use domes on top of the pops for a better look. Unfortunately, I think I might have installed a longer hex post to make more room for the dome at the upper plastic just behind the Transporter Link mech, I just don't remember. I really need to have a Pro and LE owner to please measure the height of their factory hex post in that location so I can include the appropriate hex post extender needed in the installation kit of the Scorpion Gunship mod for proper ramp clearance.
Here’s a pic of my modified LE and the post in question. Mine is currently 1-1/2” (~38.1mm).
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
20240416_072824 (resized).jpgCan someone please measure their hex post height to answer my question posted above and report back. It would be greatly appreciated.
Quoted from Tekman:Can someone please measure their hex post height to answer my question posted above and report back.
I will try to measure mine tonight. Just need to remind myself to do it.
I have all the controllers built and just finalized the mounting bracket. The bracket is laser cut sturdy clear 3/16" acrylic sheet. I'm just waiting on the factory standoff lengths for the Pro and LE models of the longest one behind the transporter to make sure I include the appropriate additional standoff for mounting the Gunship in the kit. jetmechinnc will hopefully report back with what he has on his machine.
The controller uses the Gunship playfield spinner to trigger an interrupt that fires bright red LEDS on the Gunship wings as the spinner spins. The top has a flashing red LED that flasher during game play. During attract mode, the Gunship will periodically do various attract flashing effects using the LEDs. The cockpit is lit up by a blue LED.
The final step is to wire up the ship LEDs. I have all the parts and wiring and should have them done by next weekend.

I set my phone to remind me when I get home from work to measure the post. Forgot last night as I figured. Should be home by 7pm tonight from work. Will post measurements soon after.
That mod looks slick, will need to add one to my game once you are done!
On my LE, that upper post is like yours, 1.5”. You just needed the one correct? Since there are two posts attaching the plastics there.
Quoted from jetmechinnc:On my LE, that upper post is like yours, 1.5”. You just needed the one correct? Since there are two posts attaching the plastics there.
That's all I needed. Thank you!

Ok. Please let us know when we can order one of your gun ships. Definitely want that in my game. Looks very cool and that spinner is my favorite shot for the rotor sound effects.
I currently have 5 full kits completed. I’m 90% done with documentation and will add these to my website soon after documentation is finished. I will add a link to the documentation and product once completed. This is a pretty easy kit to install, but I recommend you still look at the documentation first to make sure it is something you feel comfortable doing. These are very time consuming to build up and each kit takes me a little over three hours to build after I got a rhythm going. There is more behind the scenes than you would think, from populating the circuit board to final testing and everything in between. I also have to pass a small slice of my initial PCB, CAD, hardware, and firmware development time to each kit on top of the actual labor involved to make each kit.
Each kit requires 35ft of wire for three harnesses, nine connectors, laser cut bracket, 3d printed parts, custom PCB with custom coded microcontroller and associated electronic parts, housing, modified Gunship and associated parts, and all the necessary hardware included for a complete kit ready to install. No soldering is required and only requires a phillips screw driver, 1/4” nut driver, and cutting pliers for the included cable ties.
