Quoted from Fulltilt:

That cover is stole from. Funkadelic.

I have a couple Parliament records and Parlaiment, Funkadelic, and Parlaiment-Funkadelic lol usually have crazy covers so I had to take a look. The Spoon cover may be inspired by Free your mind maybe? I have no clue.

Quoted from BlackBelt:

I promise it will not disappoint!
While we’re on the subject of spending money we don’t want to…after completing a massive project I decided to upgrade the studio reference record player to this delicious VPI Scout + Ortofon 2m Blue.
[quoted image][quoted image]

We put an Ortofon 2m blue on our Fluance and it was a nice upgrade over the AT VM95 (green one).

Highly recommended!

OK gurus I have a somewhat technical question for you. I just got my TT back from service and was instantly reminded on the huge drawback this TT has over my backup. It skips super easy from merely walking around. The TT is on my entertainment center which is quite large and heavy with a fairly thick wooden top. The entertainment center itself is on carpet. If I walk anywhere within about a 5 foot radius, my needle starts skipping all over the place. My old TT had a lot more "suspension" to it I guess because it took quite a bit to get it to skip. This one I can't walk by without skipping. Its a Technics sl-1600 mk1. There is a suspension to it, but it seems rather stiff. Is there anything I can do to help mitigate the skipping? Moving the TT is pretty much out of the question. Maybe like a foam matt of some sort? Something relatively cheap would be ideal

I'm no expert, but had a similar issue. We have tile floors upstairs and when I setup a 2nd system on a table/cabinet it would skip when anyone walked by it. I bought these to try under the feet of the turntable https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076DGD3X2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00
Under the feet of the turntable it did nothing to stop it so I moved them to under the feet of the cabinet and now we can walk around with zero skipping.

Sorbothane pads are also great at mitigating vibrations. Lots of size options on amazon.

Also worth checking that your tracking force didn't get upset while moving from repair to home. Each stylus has it's own specific recommended weight but in general 1.75~2g of force is typical.

Thanks guys, these are perfect ideas! Exactly the kind of thing I was looking for.

I did have this same problem before I sent it off for repair. Plus I had the guy put an upgraded stylus in it too, and according to his documentations he calibrated it. Double checking might still be a good idea.

I did some reading today and I think the suspension springs in the TT are also adjustable, so I might have to also look into softening them up a bit.

I like this one pretty much start to finish. I got to see them live when they were touring on that record. Great stuff.

Picked up this quirky album. Best way I can describe it is if hillrods made surf surf rock. Highly reccomend "truck driving S.O.B"

Nice first pressing copy - I was about to unleash it on this little gem when I discovered the turntable has now ceased up since I last used it! Better sort that.

Quoted from nickrivers:

Not sure of the value in the States as I am in Australia. Typically here they sell for around 2.5-3.5k depending on condition.

In Australia they were marketed as G.E.C 2007 & in the States/Europe as Weltron 2007. The Weltron 2005 variation has an 8 track player as seen in the instagram link in the Reality_Studio post above.

Morning spin…Cat Stevens - Tea for the Tillerman. Surprisingly very little production/engineering info on the jacket…sounds very dynamic and crisp.

Just seeing the cover conjures up good memories of being a kid in the 90’s.

Before I started my own business in audio, I used to freelance doing location sound for corporate business (typically very boring). Well one night, the gig was PUSA playing a private benefit on the Microsoft campus for like 50 people in a conference room…they played pretty much this entire record…it was epic and they’re the nicest people.

#12925 31 days ago

This band is insane. If you like Tech death metal or impressive musicianship, you can do no wrong with any Archspire record.

It was a good delivery day

Now that Cake has reissued 4 albums i decided to buy these to go along with fashion nugget and list my box set. It'll fund many more purchases if it sells. If not that's fine by me I'll listen to the reissues and keep the box set safe

Quoted from Three60in:

Either Reciever will probably have crackle in the knobs when you buy it. There's a fix for that. Get online and buy a can of "deoxit" take it apart and spray the pots. Work them back and forth like 50x

Don't mess with stiff knobs until you spray them out.

If they give any resistance, STOP, before you permanently damage the wiper

Diving back into the Genesis catalogue..
Genesis, Wind and Wuthering.
Blood on the Rooftops might be the most beautiful Genesis song, a Hackett Collins co write.
Tony Banks is masterful here, epic after epic.
Great album for a stormy weekend.

I drove over to Charlottesville today, an hour from Richmond, and hit a bunch of record stores. Hello Goodbye records was particularly great. I couldn’t believe I found a Low Roar record in the wild. Well, outside of Iceland anyway. Here is today’s bounty.

Yep, I had a cardboard box full of box sets, too close to the garage door.
We've had a whole series of Gullywasher storms this year, looks like it happened a month ago.
It was dry under the box last night when I discovered it... but that box sucked up the moisture.
Thankfully I resleeved the vinyl in plastic lined sleeves, so no vinyl lost. Just the packaging.
Three boxes destroyed, one or two salvageable
Live and learn.
Get your vinyl off the ground if it's in a garage.
I just forgot about that box...
My fault.

Mofi Sleeves for the Win.

The 2007 remasters are great, if that's what you ordered it'll sound better than mine.
I have the Duke remaster, and it's outstanding.

you can add some protection with a generic cover ,take pictures of the ruined covers front and back you can print the picture like 3 " and tape it to a corner of the outside of the generic cover for quick identification
