Okay I have this weird issue with Creature.

Not the DMD board, not the FFC, not the DMD. Must be the MPU.

Anything I can fix here? Or is this send the board to the fixers?

    Thanks
    PinDoc.

    What is an FFC?
How did you rule out the DMD Controller?

FlatFlexCable. I installed a brand new DMD Rotten Dog DMD board. Also tried an OE BW bord. No change. Not the cable or the the DMD board. Must be something on the MPU.

are you sure the ribbon cable connectors are on correctly, not inverted or shifted up or down, so that one row of pins is not connected (I've done these things before!)?

Did this happen all on its own, or did you recently do something (install a mod, remove a board, etc.) that might have caused this?

If it's booting and working otherwise press firmly on the ASIC on the mpu board.

Is the ribbon cable connected upside down?

No matter how good a tech you are, there can be some head-scratching moments in this hobby. Never hurts to ask for advice.

This is presenting like bad ribbon cables, bad DMD board, so when those are eliminated...

Well, at the cost of $500 for a plasma display (to keep the game original looking), I'd be asking if there were any option other than the display!

Next step is to test with different glass, then different CPU.

Okay its fixed. As luck would have it, I was testing with two ribbon cables that appear to have been sketchy on the ends where they attach to the DMD board. Im guessing the tiny contacts may have built up some slight corrosion which resulted in open circuits.

I decided to throw the cables in the ultrsound and when I hooked them both up, the DMD started working correct. I will go ahead and just throw a new cable on it to be safe

Thanks for all of the help guys.
