Why should I sign up?

The Pinside aims to be a hospitable place. That's why all our content can be viewed without signing up for an account. However, we want our users to be active and to participate. For users to communicate with each other it's useful to know a little about other users that make contributions. And for that it's necessary that you register for an account. Signing up will gain you 100 karma points.

How does it work?

All stuff that's related to your account can be found in the section 'My Pinside'. So to sign up your first action would be to go there. Now find the part that asks you if you want to join the Pinside.

Make up with a cool user name and a secure password and fill them out.

Don't forget to supply an valid email address, as we will send your activation mail to this address!

When satisfied click 'Sign me up' and hope that your user name is still available.

If your user information is accepted, an email will be send to the email address you specified. This should take no more than a few minutes. The email contains your user details and an activation link. This is to make sure that you're requesting an account for yourself. Once you clicked the link (or copied it to your browser), your account is activated and you will be able to sign in and use all the cool features.

What to do next?

After signing up, you can tell the Pinside community something about yourself, about how you started playing pinball and why you like it so much. You can also fill out your profile and choose an avatar or tell us which machines you own or would like to own in the future. You can optionally choose to share this information with our community, so other pinheads can get in touch with you. If you finished completing your profile, you can participate more by rating machines you've played or uploading photo's of your own machines. Or if you have something interesting to share you can comment on the articles you read or write an great article yourself.

What if I specified an incorrect email address?

You accidentally used a non existing email address or an email address you don't use to register to the Pinside? In this case you should contact us and we will fill out the email address for you. Note that it's important that you specify your user name and the valid email address in the contact form, because else we can't fill it out for you.

What if I never received my confirmation email?

The confirmation link is included in the 'welcome' email you received after signing up. If you don't receive the welcome email, check in your email client's spam folder. Some filters are more aggressive than others about identifying spam. If you still haven't received the email after several hours, use the 'contact us' instructions specified above.
