What is it?

Your profile page is all about you. On your profile page you can tell us a little bit about yourself and set up some preferences. You can also tell us if and how much information about yourself you wish to share with other users of the site. Completing your profile will gain you 50 karma points.

First things first

This help text assumes that you've already created a Pinside account. Go here to read how you can create one.

How does it work?

First of all we wish to explicitly state that none of the information you specify here will ever be shared with 3^rd parties. We will only use this information to build site statistics and to let our other users know a bit more about you. We will, off course, only do this to the degree that you find acceptable.

That being said, to start editing your profile you need to go to your 'Profile' page in the 'My Pinside' section. Here you will see several boxes with forms you can fill out:

• Account data (mandatory): this is information that is needed to identify you on the site. Other users will always only see you user name (which therefor must be unique). Your email address will be hidden from them. If you wish to change your password, you can do this in this part by supplying your current and your new password. You can also upload an avatar here. • Personal data (optional): this is personal information you can specify to tell us a bit about yourself. This information will be hidden from other users, except if you explicitly allow them to see it in the 'your profile page' box.
• Location (optional): here you can specify where you live. If we know this, we can put you on the 'Pinball map'. This information will be hidden from other users, except if you allow them to see it in the 'your profile page' box.
  
• Your profile page: this is where you specify how much information you are willing to show on your 'shared profile' page, which you can find in the 'Community' section. Every Pinside user has his / her own 'profile' page which can be visited by other users. You can specify here what other Pinside users that are visiting your 'profile' page get to see.

• Email notifications: Notification emails contain Pinside and pinball related information that you might be interested in. You can find more information about them here.
• New features: we have a lot of cool stuff in mind what we would like to build next. However, building features consumes a lot of time and off course we want you to appreciate the stuff we're building. So we are very interested in what features you would like to see next on the Pinside.
  

When you're done, don't forget to submit your 'profile' by clicking the 'Store Changes' button.
