Goooooooooooooooooooooooooal!!!

To begin, I'm not a soccer guy, so the theme works against this game. That said, I like it! The art does the trick, the game looks good with nice gold accents. The sound REALLY makes the game for me, the hyper excited announcer really goes to town, and the music is suprisingly catchy. The playfield... oh this is hard... It's got some great features (moving goalie, magnetic ball lock, spinning soccer ball, EPIC ramps) and some bad ones (lame skillshot, useless magna-save, "free kick" holes, bad outlanes [with a bonus higher up outlane!] and the previously mentioned soccer ball, which as often as it makes you go "Oh cool!" makes you groan as it FLINGS the ball to it's doom, and is noisy to boot) but overall I do LIKE it, but kinda want to kill it. Gameplay wise this game wins you over in the end tho, with a fun, interesting rule set and a great GREAT wizard mode where you compete with a computer team for the championship. So to sum up, if your a soccer guy, it's awesome, and if you're not, try it anyway, you might dig it!   Click here to read more...
