"PINBOT RULEZ"

Anyone who's read any of my other stories knows that my poor 'bot' has been broken. So today we started minor surgery on her. But this isn't where the story starts, so lets go back about six years. I had a large house with a big empty room in the basement. I had been playing alot of pool at the time, ( Eight ball mostly ) and thought a pool table would fill the space perfectly. I found a guy that had a route here locally in the Kootenays. After putting the bar table in I realized I still had lots of room left over. As the tech was reclothing the table I asked him if he had any cool pinball machines for sale. He said "like what?"I rattled off a bunch of machines I'de played over the years. Most of them he didn't have or were more than I wanted spend at the time, after all I had just spent $1500 on a pool table. When I said 'Pinbot' he looked up from the table and said " yeah I just picked one up from a resort, it was in pretty bad shape, but I've almost got it working." How much " Oh I don't know, $900 bucks" SOLD I said.

Me the 'bot' my pool table and an arcade game called Arkanoid 2 Revenge of Doh moved around alot over the next few years, some times because of work but mostly becuase of women. One woman held them ransom while she extorted money out of me. Another time I lived above a bar with the 'bot' in my hotel room. Chicks always thought that was hot, but made me turn her off before we went to bed. I think they were jelous of her because I spent more time with her than I did with them. I ended up having to store her for awhile, and in the short version that almost leads up to today.

A little while ago I was on a roadtrip to Vancover when my truck got broke into stealing my packsack with several keys in it. Of course the only key I had left for my 'bot' was in there. So the first thing we had to do today, before we could move her was break in. We break her down, tarp her up, strap her down, and haul her into town.

Now I've already got a couple of my employees to clean up the back room of our store to make room for her. The tech gets her all set up running the best he can for now. "Tomorow, I'll be back when I can spend more time here." He leaves and of course I gota try her out. I rack up some credits and press the button, nothing. I shut her off, open her up, pull the glass out, lift the playfeild up, clean the coil, and put her back together. I turn her back on, push the start, nothing, the phone rings, I answer it, then click, KLACK. She spits the ball out into the plunger lane. "I gota go" I hang up the phone, I think to myself just a couple games. I'm going to a barbacue, and if I'm late my girl's going to 'freak'. I let the plunger go, the ball spirals up and drops in the 100,000. It's all coming back to me now, the ball crashes around the bumpers, then dives out for the flippers. I hit it with the right flipper, "ah crap" the flipper sticks coming halfway down. That makes it almost impossible to get up and around the 'vortex'. Ok but it's still fun to play, because I haven't had a pinball fix in a month. It's super hard to play like this, but by the  third ball I finally complete the colour grid. No visor lift, that means I can't even make it to multi ball. The ball sewers and I think I hope it's not the visor motor, just a fuse, just a fuse I hope. I'll leave her on over night the heat will cure any dampness she might have from sitting so long in storage. The third player displays shot too so tomorow we'll fix ya up honey. I set the alarm, lock the store, and head out.

Don't worry tomorow she'll be all better remember 'PINBOT RULEZ'

P.S.  If you think you can write a better story about 'Pinbot' I dare you. I think most of you are chicken because I don't see alot of stories on Pinside. So pick a favorite machine you've played and write something cool about it, make someone else want to play   it as bad as you do.
